Enhancing the community with ethical and smart investments.
Continuing to see possibilities in our investment goals and the world around us allows for a deeper commitment when giving back to the community.
Our Commitment
SANDSTONE has an extraordinary record of community engagement and volunteerism. Since the firm was founded, each employee has been allocated 40 hours of annual paid volunteer time and encouraged to become involved in a wide range of charitable endeavours. Staff members contribute well over that number of hours each year, many undertaking non-profit board governance training and joining a variety of causes throughout Calgary.
Our ongoing commitment, innovation and leadership within our community have earned us the sought-after designation of ‘Caring Company’ on the part of Imagine Canada, which entails donating a minimum of 1% of pre-tax domestic profit to support charities and not-for-profit organizations, as well as leveraging the skills and competencies of our employees to make a difference in the community.
Some of the many outstanding community initiatives undertaken by SANDSTONE include:
- Partnering with InterGen to mentor the next generation of Albertan business leaders and entrepreneurs.
- Teaming up with Calgary Surge Assist X Kids Up Front to send over 300 children to Surge home games.
- An almost twenty-year sponsorship of Alberta Ballet’s Artistic Director, Jean Grand-Maître.
- A highly successful annual donation drive for Calgary Drop-In Centre.
- The launch of the SANDSTONE City Builder Award to recognize artists who make Calgary a better place to live.
In addition, SANDSTONE employees support and volunteer with diverse organizations such as:
- The Calgary Bridge Foundation for Immigrant Youth
- Calgary Arts Development
- Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra
COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIPS
SANDSTONE is delighted to partner with InterGen, a unique Calgary non-profit with a mission to re-energize and re-build our community.
As the Champion sponsor of the Calgary Surge Assist X Kids Up Front initiative, we’ll be sending over 300 children to Canadian Elite Basketball League home games.
SANDSTONE is proud to be a partner of this yearly event in Banff.
Every December, our team organizes one large donation drive for the Calgary Drop-In Centre.
This award was established to recognize artists and/or organizations that make Calgary a better place to live through the arts.
